BMW introduced the fourth generation of the X3 earlier this week, marked by boldness and finesse. The Bavarian manufacturer's SUV has made a significant leap forward in both design and technology. The interior has been completely redesigned with an entirely new dashboard concept.
The engineers have gone all out, revising nearly every aspect of the model. Given that the X3 is among the brand's most popular models, the Bavarian manufacturer had to aim for excellence with this new iteration. And the least we can say is that it’s a success across the board.
A Modern and Muscular Look
The first thing that catches the eye is the new front end of the X3. It’s square and inspired by other new-generation models like the XM. This design signature is more elegant than ever, and I must say that the X3 wears it quite well.
What makes the new X3 even more interesting is the variety of wheels and colors the model offers. There’s something for everyone.
A Flamboyant Interior
BMW has accustomed us to sophisticated and uniform interiors. Here, it’s something completely different. Sure, there’s a huge screen that houses the dashboard and the multimedia system, but it’s the rest of the dashboard that shines here. The ambient lighting is simply amazing, with shapes that aren’t necessarily fluid, which makes the result so interesting. Notably, BMW has also taken the opportunity to eliminate the gear lever, an excellent idea in my opinion.
As with the exterior, BMW offers a wide range of choices in terms of interior colors and materials. Interestingly, although the Bavarian manufacturer’s SUV is longer and wider, it loses 16 mm in height, which negatively impacts its cargo space, which is 1,700 liters, 75 less than the previous generation.
Power Under the Hood
Where the Bavarian manufacturer's SUV shines, as always, is under the hood. The 2025 X3 first offers a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that develops 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This is also paired with a mild hybrid system. There’s also a 6-cylinder engine in the M50 version with 393 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque, allowing the X3 to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, which is very fast. As for the price, the base version of the 2025 X3 will cost $58,900 before options. The Bavarian manufacturer's SUV is expected to arrive in dealerships in the coming months.
