How the funds raised in 2010 were used:

Neuromuscular and Metabolic Disorders:

Dr. Mark Tarnopolsky and his team are world leaders in the area of Neuromuscular and Neurometabolic disorders. They provide a unique clinical program which serves a large number of patients with rare and challenging disorders such as Muscular Dystrophy and Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The team produces world class research and Dr. Tarnopolsky was recently named the first recipient of the McMaster Children’s Hospital / Hamilton Health Sciences Chair in Child Health.

Facility and equipment improvements:

McMaster Children’s Hospital is currently in the middle of a major 5-year transformation of our facilities. There are many projects, which range from minor renovation of our clinics to the upcoming construction of a new Emergency Department. This transformation of our hospital will provide our patients and staff with new child and family friendly environments. The funds raised will help support our hospital improvements and place modern equipment in the hands of our dedicated staff so they can deliver the best care possible to our precious patients.
